Painting with the Smart Grid Tool
You use the Smart Grid tool to fill boundary mask regions defined by an overlaid grid on 2D views in 'Single slice' mode, as shown below. The Smart Grid tool takes advantage of a watershed algorithm with distance transform and contrast enhancement to accelerate and optimize segmentation tasks.
- Select the required 2D view.
- Select Single slice mode (see ROI Painter Tool Settings).
- Click the Smart Grid
tool.
A gird is computed automatically and then overlaid on the selected 2D view.
- If required, select the dataset that will provide the threshold values for computing the grid in the drop-down menu.
- Do the following to adjust the grid, if required.
- Choose a gird size for the X (horizontal) and/or Y (vertical) axis in the drop-down menus.
- Increase of decrease the Sigma value.
- Click the Reset
button if you need to update the grid.
- Do the following:
- Hold down Left Ctrl (or your configured Add with key) and then click on a representative region to add selections to the current region of interest or multi-ROI.
- Hold down Left Shift (or your configured Remove with key) and then click on the current region of interest or multi-ROI to remove selections.
Note You can use the scroll wheel on your mouse to increase or decrease the brush size, if required. Brush sizes can also be set in the Brush size box.
Note Refer to Configured Actions for the Smart Grid Tool for additional information about the configured actions for the Smart Grid tool.
